Tax Rejection By Supreme Court – Democracy In Danger

Recently I read news that British telecommunication giant Vodafone has won 2.5 billion dollars tax case in India’s Supreme Court against Indian authorities. Indian authorities imposed the $2.5 billion tax bill and sought an equal sum in penalties over Vodafone’s $11.1 billion purchase in 2007 of a majority stake in the Indian mobile unit of Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa.

I wonder that if this would have happened in Pakistan than PPP led government would have criticised apex court openly and they would have also said that Supreme Court have rejected the chance of getting 2.5 billion dollar from foreign company in tax and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani would have said that democracy has come under danger.
