TDAP CEO S.M. Muneer Urged Govt To Refund ST

TDAP_logoKarachi: The CEO of Trade Develo­pment Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) S.M. Muneer urged the government to refund sales tax (ST) in order to improve exports to $5 billion. According to the details, S.M. Muneer while addressing to the first International Textile Conference and Awards 2015 on Saturday on took responsibility to enhance exports by asking government to refund sales tax (ST) to the businessmen as soon as possible.

The CEO of TDAP further said that export can be improve to $5 billion this during if government refund ST to business community. On the other hand, Miftah Ismail, the chairman of Board of Investment also spoke to the event and discussed about investment prospects in the textile sector. He further told that International Monetary Fund program has been added in the textile sector during one and a half year as well as six reviews have been come across successfully in this regard. However ex-adviser to prime minister on textiles, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that textile sector has provided 38% jobs so far by giving 10% to the GDP.

Similarly, Towel Manufacturers Association Pakistan’s Chairman Mehtabuddin Chawla told that government is trying to sign contracts with several countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Turkey who will give free custom duty on exports.
