Tehreek-e-Insaf Protest Jalsa On 11th May At D-Chowk, Islamabad

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is going to hold the protest on May 11 this year against alleged rigging in the May 11, 2013 elections at D-Chowk, Islamabad. Islamabad Administration has not been granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to protest against the alleged rigging in the May 11, 2013 elections.

Chief of PTI said that “PTI have accepted the election results for the sake of country, but we do not support rigging where voters got dissatisfied”. Imran Khan said those who were engaged in the rigging should be exposed earlier and brought to justice and fairness. When PTI announced the protest against rigging of 2013 elections, many political parties had declared their backing for it including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Tahirul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

The Protest will be held on 11th May, 2014 at 5 pm in the evening at D-Chowk, Islamabad. PTI has requested to offer security arrangements for the jalsa, after which permission may be granted. It is pertinent to mention that PTI request has been rejected due to the word of jalsa used in it and because there is no declaration of arrangements regarding lighting or directions in the No-Objection Certificate (NOC).

PTI believes that the 11 May protest is the only way to ensure next elections are fear and free. As the rigging culture should be end if this riffing will continue then voters will depressed and will vote no more. PTI proposed a system of prosperous democracy on May 11 protest at At D-Chowk, Islamabad.
