The Advent Of Human Culture

In earliest phase man was no better than an animal. His conscious knowledge of things was limited to and shaped by his basic necessities which he met in the crudest and uncouth form. Gradually, man organized himself on group and collective basis. This was the dawn of primitive civilization.

In began in those areas where climate and other geographical conditions were favourable for an improved living. Thus, the fertile river valleys became seats of glorious civilizations.

These included the Nile Valley (Egypt), the Tigris-Eurhrates Valley (Iraq) and the Indus Valley (Pakistan). This river brought the alluvial soil from mountains and made the plains fertile. Floods provided for the natural irrigation water and rich crops could be grown and harvested.
