The Division Of India’s Assets

The thinking on the question of Pakistan’s viability was no different in British Government circles. The aim of the Indian Congress was to create as much disorders immediately after independence as possible as it would help in bringing to an early end the freshly born Muslim State of Pakistan.

The Pakistan was to receive a sum of 750 million of rupees as its share of hard money in Indian Banks. At first India did not show any inclination to transfer this money to Pakistan; but later the first installment of 20 0 million rupees was paid; while 500 million rupees were to be credited to Pakistan some time later, and Rs. 50 million were promised sometimes afterward, which did not happen until now. Of the military assets Pakistan was checked in the same way.
