The pace of progress in the expansion and improvement of health services in the country has been maintained generally, and accelerated in certain sectors in particular. In the order of priorities, the Government has placed greater emphasis on preventive measures, balanced development in provision of medical facilities in the urban and rural areas & integration of special programmes with other welfare projects.
The Health Division of the Ministry of Health, Special Education and Social Welfare is responsible for ensuring the implementation of Government health policies and programmes.
