The Overwhelming Success Of MQM In Na-246

Kanwar Naveed With Altaf HussainKarachi: According to the unofficial result of election for NA-246, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s candidate Kanwar Naveed has succeeded with 93, 122 votes. Whereas Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidate Imran Ismail received 2nd position by getting 22,855 votes as whole country is focused on the National Assembly’s constituency which is traditionally known as the hotbed of the MQM.

However 402 polling booths for men and 367 polling booths for women have been set up where 7,000 police officers were deployed for tight security as well as in order to monitor polling booths, closed-circuit cameras have also been installed inside and outside the polling stations. The overall situation remain control during polling and no untoward incident happened on the day of election but two polling officers including four persons got arrested by rangers who found involve in rigging whereas two of whom also received a fine and prison sentence. It is to remember that Rangers had special powers of magistrates during the elections.

On the other hand, Core Commander Karachi Naveed Mukhtar and DG Rangers Bilal Akbar visited the Central District and met with the presiding officers at the polling stations in order to reviewed security. Despite that, MQM, PTI and JI did press conference throughout the day as well as charges of rigging are also emerged by these parties.
