The Principles Of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy

The principles of Pakistan’s foreign policy are derived from the Pakistan Movement, which embodied the struggle of the Muslims of subcontinent for an independent and sovereign state, where in they could live in accordance with their spiritual and cultural heritage, and build a social order based on Islamic values and tradition.

The ethos of Pakistan’s foreign policy is also determined by its

experience of struggle against colonialism and foreign domination. Thus Pakistan has consistently supported the struggle against colonialism, racism and apartheid, while extending unreserved assistance to the cause of liberation and self-determination in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Within the framework of these ideals, the broad aims of Pakistan’s foreign policy can be dedined as:

The maintenance of territorial integrity, political independence and the economic well-being the nation.
