Tourism is also seen s an industry as it brings in income from tourists who visit various places of interest in country. In Pakistan, the northern region has been a favourite with tourists who are attracted to the awesome mountain landscapes.

The northern areas, now known as Gilgit-Baltistan, are famous for the Shandur Polo Festival, the breathtaking mountains, and the trekking expeditions leading up to the Khunjerab Pass. Snow leopard is also found in the Khunjerab National Park. Further south are swat and kaghan with their beautiful natural scenery and to the north-west is the historic Khyber Pass.

The culturally rich cities of Lahore, Multan and Bahawalpur, and the historic sites of Taxila, Harappa and Mohenjo-daro are also of interest to tourists.
