Veena Malik once again is in limelight. This time it is not a scandal but news from the fashion industry. Once a Pakistani stardom, is alleged by a Delhi based designer to borrow his outfits and not returning to them.
Kapil Arora, the designer has claimed that the Pakistani ‘item girl’ had taken fifteen outfits from the designers. He complains that Veena has returned only five of them. Arora in displeasing way said that Malik had worn the expensive saris in series of events. She had paid amount of only five of them. The non-payment of the rest of the ten saris has caused in loss of Rs 6 lacs to the lender.
The designer stated that we have seen Malik wearing the outfits on TV often. It’s been a year that we are trying to contact her and the manger but despite repetitive calls no response has had been made from their side. He further said that is utterly frustrating to beg for your own thing and money. We are helpless, he added. His wife Monika, who is also a fashion designer after the happening of this loss said that in future we would not be lending our outfits to any one without charging them first.
Many other designers also complained about the wrong attitudes of the stars towards the borrowed dresses. One of them said that stars are as careless as kids. Usually they leave the outfits with stains.
‘It is a two way process. If our design gets publicity then the celebrity also looks good. They should respect our work’, said another designer.
