WAPDA Corruption Scandal: 250 Employees Fired

WAPDAFaisalabad: Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has found to be involved in the case of corruption as 250 employees has been fired due to alleged corruption in the organization. According to the details, some of the official who were serving at the top slots were demoted as well as promotions of some employees were also stop due to several charges on them.

However those officials who were involved in corruption were serving on the posts of superintendent engineers, executive engineers and SDOs in WAPDA. Although some of corrupt staff members belonged from different departments of WAPDA have dismissed from their designation or some of them have also got compulsory retirement. Similarly lower grade employees have also given punishment and penalties for their alleged and dissatisfactory acts in the organization.

On the other hand, director of WAPDA Abdul Rauf was also arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the charges of corruption. It is noteworthy that WAPDA has launched strict accountability system in the organization with the aim to stop any alleged act from their employees.

Due to alleged corruption of employees, WAPDA is facing major issues as employees corruption is the reason behind the shortage of electricity due to which several people are suffering from electricity shortfall.
