Where Tea Is Found?

Tea is made from the dried leaves of a special shrub. This shrub requires good rainfall but a well-drained soil. The tea gardens are, therefore, mainly found on hill slopes, where the rain water drains easily and does not remain near the roots of the tea bushes.

South Asia is the greatest producer of tea. India grows tea in Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and the Nilgiris in South India. Sri Lanka is also famous for good quality tea. recently, tea plantation has started on experimental basis in Pakistan at Mansehra, Oghi, Balakot, Battagram and Swat.

Some encouraging results have been obtained, and there is a possibility that Pakistan starts producing tea in future.
