Youhanabad area which is located in Lahore Pakistan has become famous after church blast in Lahore as largest majority of Christian lives in Youhanabad. Almost 100,000 number of Christian’s inhabitants live in Youhanabad but it was not so famous area of Lahore, however Youhanabad area is hitting airwaves these days just after the incident.
The incident of target killing on two churches named as the Roman Catholic Church and Christ Church was took place on 15th march in the neighborhood of Youhanabad in which 15 people died and more than 75 people got injured. The Christians led great protest against the incident in different cities of Pakistan such as Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan while chanting slogans against the PM and CM. They demanded peace in the city and security at their worship places as they have been targeted in recent years. However government announced Rs500,000 for those who killed in the attack and Rs75,000 for those who got injured.
In this regard, Christian community blamed Punjab govt while claiming that for not providing effective security at their place of worship as took place at the entrance of the churches. It is important here to mention that Islamist group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has taken the responsibility of the attack.
