Sindh Government has refuted rumours that 9 November is declared as a public holiday. Provincial government revealed that schools, colleges, universities & educational institutes will remain open on Friday.
Previously some news websites reported that Sindh Government has announced holiday for educational institutes but Sindh government revealed no such notification has been issued by Education Department or Interior Ministry.
On 6th November members of National Assembly rejected a resolution demanding to declare 9th November 2018 as a public holiday as a tribute to the Allama Iqbal, the national Poet of Pakistan.
Allama Iqbal is attributed with the idea & ideology of Pakistan as he was the first leader in subcontinent who propagated the idea of separate country for Muslims. Muhammad Allama Iqbal was a poet, philosopher, thinker and politician.
