General Qamar Javed Bajwa Biography & Profile

Chief Of Army StaffGeneral Qamar Javed Bajwa has been appointed as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS). Before being appointed as COAS he was Inspector General Training and Evaluation at GHQ, the same position which was of General Raheel Sharif before he was appointed as COAS.

He commanded the 10 Corps (Rawalpindi Corps) under which the most sensitive areas of of the country, the Capital and GHQ. It also covers a major part of the border with India, including Line Of Control (LOC).

He also served in different roles in Kashmir and Northern Areas. He commanded a division in Northern Areas as formation commander (FCNA) and as a brigadier held the position of Chief of Staff (COS) at 10 corps.

He considers extremists to be a bigger threat for Pakistan than India, and it is being expected that he will increase the operation in Waziristan.
