ISI Political Cell Temporary Suspended

Islamabad: Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) political cell has been frozen. Newly appointed ISI Chief, Zaheer ul Islam took this decision on direction of Pakistan’s army leadership. DG ISI ordered to shut down ISI Political wing on temporary basis.

Now ISI will not take part in making of any political coalition. ISI will also not give briefings to politicians. Sources didn’t tell that how long this decision will remain effective.

ISI had a strong role in Pakistani politics and many politicians questioned about this. Recently, government rejected claims about “political cell” in ISI.
