Peoples’ Aman Committee (PAC) was founded in the year 2008 by the infamous dacoit Rehman Dakait. After his death, Uzair Baloch took the charge of the party. The militant group, based in Karachi is said to be a wing of the former governing party of Pakistan, Pakistan People Party (PPP). The committee was based in Lyari initially but began to extend in various areas of the city including Dalmia, Gadap Town, Malir, Golimar, Mawach Goth and the nearby towns and villages of Sindh and Baluchistan. Under clause (11/B) of Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, the committee had been termed as ‘defunct outfit’
