We earn by exporting our goods to other countries. Goods which are not made here have to be imported from other countries which costs more. Import and exports have to be balanced. We cannot afford to import things if we do not earn money by exporting other things. At the moment, we import more things than we export. Some of the products we export are cotton, rice, leather and leather goods, carpets, surgical instruments and sport goods.
