According to the details, the names of selected players were announced by the national selection committee at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium. Islahuddin Siddiqui including Olympian Khalid Bashir and Musaddiq Hussain led the national selection committee in which Islahuddin Siddiqui addressed to the occasion and told that squad is selected on merit basis. Islahuddin further told that before selection of players, physical fitness and performance were also measured
