Quaid-e-Azam Relief Fund was instituted. An appeal was made to the people in general and, particularly, the rich and wealthy, to donate generously for the help of their brethren in distress. In October 1947, Quaid-e-Azam visited Lahore for some time to acquaint himself with the problems of refugees who had came in large number after crossing the border.
