Mount Batten had already taken the approval of this Partition Plan from the Hindu leaders while the Muslims were kept uninformed from the details of this plan. Mount Batten at last, announced this plan on June 25, 1947. A Boundary Commission, for demarcation of boundaries for the two different new countries; India and Pakistan, was appointed.
