Mian Muhammad Azam is affiliated with a right-wing political party of mainstream whose politicians completed detention sentences under former military dictator Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) lead by a famous politician and business-man Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef. He is the member of 16^{th<\/sup> assembly whose tenure spans from the year 2013 till date. His current official position is that of a member of Public Accounts Committee-II. He has always raised concerns of his constituency at the party leadership and governmental levels.
