Titu Mir real name was Nisar Ali. He was a great reformist of Muslims of Bengal after Haji Shariatullah. He also tried to reform the Muslims of Bengal and made them interested in Islamic teaching. He established a centre in a village Narkelbaria near Calcutta Gradually the number of his followers began to increase and he declared himself independent. He also constructed a fort of bamboos at Narkelbaria.<\/p>
