Like Italian Fascism, Nazism also created a single-party State, headed by one supreme leader, the Fuhrer. The party was the National Socialist Party which alone was legally recognised when Hitler captured power in 1933. All other parties were abolished by law. There was, therefore, no opposition party.<\/p>
