Dr Waheed ur Rehman Brief Profile

Dr. Waheed Ur Rehman who was known as professor of Karachi University and senior journalist shot dead on Wednesday morning in Federal B Area as he left a wife and two daughters. Waheed Ur Rehman was consider as famous teacher of Karachi University who gained much popularity within a short period of time as he was fun loving and positive in nature.

The 42-years old late professor was serving as media adviser to the vice chancellor of Karachi University as he appointed as assistant professor in 2013 at the mass communication department of the university. Dr Waheed Ur Rehman who possessed virtual personality was known as sophisticated and most favorite teacher of students who won hearts of many students through his kind and friendly nature.

Late professor of Karachi University also worked in Urdu University as professor for Mass Communication Department where he worked for 4 years and later joined Karachi University. [alert style=”white”] Despite of this he also remained associated with Daily Ummat he worked as senior journalist for 8 years as he gained much popularity in the field of journalism where he was known with the name Yasir Rizvi.[/alert] He also wrote for Nai Baat after leaving Daily Ummat, at last he left journalism and started his teaching profession in Universities and also made his great name in this profession though. However he remained a member of Karachi Press Club and Election Committee.

Dr Waheed Ur Rehman completed his PH.D IN Mass Communication as he received his degree from Graduate and Research Management Council of Urdu University by Arts Science and Technology in the year 2010. He completed his doctorate under the supervision of late professors named as Prof Shakeel Auj and Dr Tauseef Ahmed who was presently teaching in Urdu University during that time. He also presented research report on Media policy and sources of media of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the direction of his professors. It is important to mention that Waheed Ur Rehman was working in Urdu University during his tenure of PH.D.

Waheed Ur Rehman was only child of his family and a son of Syed Imam as he lost his father in his early life when he was in his school. He started to work hard from early days of his life in order to support his family and tried hard to make a good career of him as he completely made his career successful. He became target of terrorists and died on 29^th April, 2015.
