Primary Education – Pakistan

The Government runs most of the primary schools (Grades I to V for the 5 to 9 age group), and also helps private institutions by means of substantial grants. Independent schools, which are often part of larger institutions also comprising secondary school rely on donations, and usually charge comparatively higher fees.

Since many children, particularly in rural areas, do not continues their studies beyond the primary stage.The course is designed to serve a dual purpose; it is self contained and preparatory, an end for many and a beginning for some.

The course includes social studies, elementary science, arts and crafts, manual labour and other activities to help develop fundamental skills. Religion is a compulsory subject throughout the primary stage.
