Cell phone operators in the country have jammed unregistered mobile SIMS on the orders of government for telecommunication (PTA). The PTA has focused mobile phone operators to speed up the process of blocking unregistered SIMS. Mobile operators have already in progress to take action on PTA’s directive by examining the Home Location Registers (HLRs) of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs). If 200 SMS from a single number within 15 minutes are being sent, PTA will block the number. On submitting an affidavit the SIM will be opened only once. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will now block any number which sends more than 200 SMS in 15 minutes according to its new policy.
