Arms Licence Data Being Computerised In Karachi

It has been announced by the administrator of the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) that arm (weapons) licence record of Karachi will be computerised and will also be linked to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

KMC administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed inaugurated the system at Civic Centre, Karachi and said that all the records from 1944 will be computerised.

It has been planned that in the first phase, all records from 2001 to 2012 will be computerised and in second phase arm licence data from 1944 to 2001 will be digitised.

District officer arms Afaq Mirza said that all information about arm licence holders would be available on computer after inserting computerised national identity card number or arms licence number.

Our Reporter adds: This is good that arm licence data is being computerised and also linked to NADRA but it will be more better if all the licence holders are requested to renew their licences and then law enforcement agencies check whole city as who have licence arms or who have illegal arms.
