Bahawalpur Farid Gate Restoration Work Stopped

Farid GateBahawalpur: Bahawalpur Farid Gate’s restoration work has been stopped as working on the historic gate was a part of the city’s remodeling project of local administration. According to the details, contractor of the project has left the restoration work as well as has also claimed for deposit call from the city TMA record which is Rs2.3million.

However restoration of the work was a good news for the citizens of Bahawalpur which started after several years as restoration work was started by the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) on the direction of Commissioner Saqib Zafar. In this regard, administration had also involved art students to make painting which represent local culture, heritage and life in Cholistan desert for the outer walls of the several buildings which comes under the Farid Gate to Library Chowk.

On the other hand, spotlights were also fixed on the historic Nawab Sadiq Reading Hall as well as on other buildings in order to highlight the paintings. Although, contractions also hired working laborers on the location and also brought construction material to the site for its restoration. But unfortunately, laborers stopped to working on the Farid Gate as several equipment and materials are dumped on the site due to which citizens are also facing interruption in traffic flow.
