BBC Office Shut Down In Karachi due to Security Threats?

bbc-news-logoKarachi: British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have shut down their offices in the metropolitan city after the amid security threats from an ethnic group of a political party, source reported. It is said that the British channel has engaged its workers to carry out the office work from their homes since the security lapses do not allow safety. It had been observed for more than a week. South Karachi DG Ameer Sheikh had visited the office after taking notice of the issue.

The reason BBC working men have restricted themselves to their home based working may be due to the security threats from the vandals. After BBC aired documentary related to the MQM leader, oppositions were met by different followers, some called it to be false and propaganda against them.

Media men have expressed serious concern over the closure of the international broadcasting channel.

The spokesman stated that the channel it’s fully operating. From time to time, bureaus observe such routine changes according to the law and order situations in the cities.
