Biometric & CCTV For NA 246 Elections, Rangers Demand

RangersKarachi: The rangers of Pakistan has demanded for Biometric and CCTV for by-elections of NA-246 which is going to be held on 23rd April, 2015. According to the details, rangers requested to the home department to take all necessary steps for the installment of biometric verification system and CCTV camera at all polling stations in the constituency of biometric verification system in order to make fair and transparent election.

A letter has been written to the home department by parliamentary force in which it is recommended to fix biometric verification system of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) at all 211 polling stations in the Azizabad constituency of NA-246 and also advised to install at least 1,000 closed-circuit television cameras on behalf of security purpose. Rangers have also pointed towards 55 sensitive buildings where biometric machines and CCTV cameras are necessary to fix.

However, no response has come out from the Sindh government over these recommendations expected but rangers’ demands are expected to be followed for the fair and transparent elections.

Meanwhile, some sources are also claiming that biometric machines will not be install in the NA-246 constituency.

On the other hand, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will visit to Karachi in order to conduct meeting with rangers’ officials for the distribution of ballot papers under the control of rangers.
