Demand Of Advanced Fees By Private Schools Burdens Parents

Karachi: Privately run schools have begun to demand for June and July month’s fees, in the respective months of December and June. The notice issued by the educational institutions has met in acceptance from parents, sources have learnt.

The educational authorities are to be blamed for their callousness to happening of the violations. Nisar Ahmed, one of the parents said failure of the Sindh government and the concerned educational department result in such happening.

He said that the institutions violate the government rules. Demand of fees for the summer vacation months, 4 months before is neglecting their rules.’ Let’s see what the government does to stop this’, said Nisar.

Government has had ordered the private institutions to comply with the fee rules. But, instead of following the directives, the private schools have stepped forward, urging for ‘advanced fee payment’.

Some of the parents have also received circular of ‘advanced fees’. In case of non-payment in due time, the students may not be permitted to appear in their annual examinations. The threat has created unrest among the parents.

Administrations of the private owned schools defend stating, advanced fees is a need. Since, the schools have to pay salaries to the teachers for the respective months. It is pertinent here to mention that no government school has passed notification of ‘advanced fees’. It is the only private-school run organization that calls for such actions.

Step taken by the private schools call for the government intervention. The violators shall be dealt strictly to give relief to the burden-ridden parents. Harassing parents and students has become a wide practice. The failure to devise proper and checked educational policy system is a contributing reason to the events.
