Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 is all set to release all over the world on 20th December (Friday) but still there is no confirmation whether the film will release in Pakistan or not. Geo Films is bring Dhoom 3 in Pakistan and now a days they are also doing marketing of the film but have also clearly mentioned that film will be released but it is “Subject To Censor”
One of the Facebook pages of cinemas in Pakistan (Atrium Cinemas) when questioned about the Dhoom 3 (and other Indian films i.e. Bullett Raja and R…Rajkumar ) stated that “When we will receive confirmation we will update accordingly. The case has been adjourned till Monday, 16th December 2013.”
The other cinema (Nueplex Cinema) when inquired about Dhoom 3 release stated “It’s expected on 20th December 2013. Once it is censored, sessions will be opened for booking.” Cinepax Cinemas have cinemas in Karachi, Lahore and Gujranwala has not responded to this question.
Lahore High Court has put a ban on screening of Indian movies after journalist Mubashir Luqman filed a petition in the court. However now the case is in court and it is expected that the final decision will be made soon.
According to sources cinema owners and Geo TV network are trying their best to remove this ban as it will pay the way for Indian films to be screened in Pakistan. Many people have supported this ban, however some of Bollywood lovers in Pakistan are of the view that this ban should be lifted and Indian movie should be allowed.
India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari tweeted regarding this issue and criticized the Pakistani court’s order to stop the screening of Indian content on TV channels, saying that films and serials were ideas that could not be stopped.
