According to the sources, a meeting of interior ministry was held in Islamabad in which it was decided to add former Advisor on Petroleum Dr. Asim and former Information Minister Sharjeel Memon in ECL. Sources claimed that Dr. Asim was included in ECL according to the new policy on the request of NAB while case has also been filed against him in North Nazimabad police station. On the other hand, Sharjeel Memon is also facing kidnapping allegations against him.
However, Sindh Information Minister Nisar Khuhro termed this decision as political victimization and said that when no case has been proved against these leaders then it is not right to add their names in ECL. Meanwhile Mr.Sharjeel responded while saying that he will return to Pakistan soon as there is no case against him.
It is worth mentioning here that the anti-terrorism court handed over Dr. Asim to rangers for 90 days remand as there are several charges on him including terrorist financing.
