Drone Attacks Are Not Violating Pakistan’s Sovereignty: John Kerry

john kerry pakistanUS Secretary of State John Kerry has said that drone attacks are not violating Pakistan’s sovereignty but those who are targeting Pakistan are violating Pakistan’s sovereignty. John Kerry said that drone strikes are carried out in a transparent way. John Kerry was addressing press conference with Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his first meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry asked US to stop drone attacks in tribal areas of the country. US Secretary of State will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani also.

Meanwhile Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan said that if drone attacks are stopped most of the militants will be motivated to give up their Jihad narrative. Imran Khan met John Kerry today and reiterated that drones were a violation of international law and counterproductive as they cause collateral damage in terms of increasing terrorism.
