Eight Five-Year Development Plans Fails To Improve Per Capita Income

The economy being a resources constraint, poor, capital-scarce and labour-abundant is deposed to almost all the ill consequences of the vicious circle of poverty. Though, so far, eight Five-Year development plans have been accomplished, yet the per capita income is not more than $ 652 in 2004.

Whatever has been gained through the developmental efforts swallowed up by the rapidly increasing population. Majority of the population is still living at the sub-standard.

In fact, rapidly increasing population is nullifying the efforts being made to get rid of consequences produced by the vicious circle of poverty. Poverty breeds large number of children which increase poverty further which stimulate the vicious circle of poverty.
