Elimination of Waterlogging and Salinity

Arrangements are being made to eliminate waterlogging and salinity. Trees having long roots are being planted to eliminate these discuses of the soil. The canals and water courses are being cemented. Tube wells are being installed to keep the level of underground water down.

A number of vocations associated with agriculture are being promoted so the farmers can earn extra money from these professions in their spare time. This agriculture related professions will also prevent the farmers to move to the cities for earning money.

The government has established a number of agriculture institutions and agriculture research institutes which are producing graduates in agriculture science and are trying to find the ways to increase agricultural production, develop higher yielding seeds and discover methods to control plant diseases.
