Folk Dance is an integral part of the cultural life of Pakistan. Folk Dancing on marriages, durin the harves season or the onset of monsoons adds to the gaicty and jubilation of these occasions and is therefore widely practised. Luddi, Bhangra, Phumahanyan, and Jhoomar, from the Punjab, Jamalo, from Sindh, Khattak from Frontier Province and Chap from Balochistan are a part of this tradition.

Also war dances or dances of victory which form a part of the tribal lore are fascinating for the viewers. Ordinarily no regular training is considered necessary in this art and the simple rhythmic body movements come naturally to the participants.
