General Kayani Lauds Nation By Defeating Misguided Minority In Elections

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that nation has defeated the misguided minority in the General Elections which was held on 11th May. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was addressing a day-long international symposium on countering Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at the GHQ on 20th May.

General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani also said that Pakistani people not only stood against threat of terrorism but also they also defied unfounded dictates of an insignificant and misguided minority. Kayani also said that Pakistani nation on 11th May showed that they can withstand any challenge.

According to analysts General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was referring to last PPP led government when he said “misguided minority”. Analyst believe that Kayani didn’t want to name Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) directly as it would have cost chaos but he (Kayani) was surely referring it to PPP. From 2008-2013 there were reports of billions of corruption in government and PPP was held responsible for this.
