Pakistan might likely be the top on the list on the mind of people, when it comes to talking about terrorist hub. But, to the surprise, it is the hegemonic power, none other than the United States that is considered, eminent threat to the world peace.
Worldwide Independent Network/ Gallup conducted a global survey. For the year 2013, shift in perception of the people was witnessed. Globally, 24 % of the population showed up terming USA as the primary deteriorating agent of global peace. Pakistan ranks 2nd, fetching around 8% of the votes. While the neighboring countries, China, Iran and Afghanistan share 6, 5 and 5 % respectively.
Often seen as criminal activities hub, India shares only 4 % of the opinion polls in the regard. Positioning of America is not surprising. For past several decades, USA has been engaged in waging wars, exploiting global peace through military and political interventions globally. Interestingly, to as many as 13 % of the US natives, voted against their country.
Gallup claims to cover 95 % of the world’s market. The market research and polling are conducted by around 77 independent firms. 65 countries participated in the global survey, conducted by the body. It was the 37th time, the survey was conducted.
