Harappa

Remains of Harappa are as old as that of Mohenjo-Daro. Harappa is situated at a distance of 24 kilometers from Sahiwal. The houses with compound walls were built of baked bricks or mud bricks. The houses of baked bricks belonged to the rich families whereas houses made of mud bricks were owned by the poor.

Government offices and residential building were built separately. Food grains were stored in big halls which were used as gndowns. the civilization of Harappa seems to be five thousand years ago.

The remains of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa show that the people of south Asia led a highly cultured life.
