Helmet Must For Women (Motorcyclists) In Karachi From 1st June

Karachi: Traffic Police has declared helmet must for women as well as for motorcyclists who used to travel on motorcycle in Karachi from 1^st June. According to the spokesman of traffic police, helmet has become compulsory for both man and woman in accordance with the Motorcycle Safety Ordinance 1965 under section A-89.

In this regard, DIG Traffic Ameer Sheikh said in an issued statement that if no one will follow the new traffic rule, strict action will be taken against him/her from 1^st June. [alert style=”white”]However women who travels with motorcyclist will have to follow this rule as this rule has emerged in the light of safety precautions, he added.[/alert]

On the other hand, citizens who came to know about the mandatory of helmet for women too declared this new traffic rule awkward while saying that it is equal to fun from Islamic civilized society. Citizens also criticized this rule by claiming that it seems admiration has taken wrong step in the name of safety precautions as this action will only make fun especially of ladies.

However public also demanded to traffic administration that to order traffic police ensure the implementation of traffic rules in order to decrease traffic accidental rates despite of these childish restrictions.
