Famous singer Adnan Sami was in news in the last few days. He was asked by Mumbai Police to leave India after expiry of his visa. Adnan Sami is a Pakistani origin singer but from the last few years he is residing in India. Adnan Sami’s visa issue was a was raised during an ongoing court case between Adnan Sami and his ex-wife Sabah Galadari. Sabah’s lawyer said in court that Adnan is staying illegally in India.
Adnan Sami has said that he possessed Pakistani passport but he resides in India as his visa has been renewed whenever it expires. Adnan said that I will live in India in tent but will not go to Pakistan.
Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS) affiliate group of Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) asked Adnan Sami to leave the country and also requested the authorities not to extend Adnan’s visa.
Update: Adnan Sami has been granted a three-month extension by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs.
