A very unfortunate and utterly appalling incident happened with us tonight (14th Jan 2017) at Kababjees, do darya.
My family plus my sister’s family which included each of our husbands and kids were all there. After dinner, I took the kids to the railing side to take their photos. When we were done, we were walking away from the area with my 13 year old daughter towards the end of the group. At this point one of Kebabjee’s waiters threw a chit at her and said “bachi yeh mera number hai (this is my number). He repeated it twice. As soon as he did this, she ran to us scared and told us what had happened. According to my daughter, the man had been staring at her for quite a while before this but she was ignoring him.
Hearing this, all of us adults were infuriated. My husband and brother in law immediately went back to where the incident had happened. There’s a service room there where the waiters work. They scolded the waiters and had them come out of the room to see if my daughter could recognise the culprit. But we couldn’t find him.I strongly suspect the other waiters and even management was involved in hiding him from us. The manager did not cooperate in any reasonable way with us, in fact just offered tea.
I posted this incident here so that everyone is aware that such revolting behaviour takes place at such a popular restaurant like Kebabjees. It’s disgusting. My daughter is just 13 years old. I’m glad she was smart enough to inform us of this incident as soon as it happened. Our kids are being corrupted by these horrible men. We must not stay silent and fight as much as we can! Some will call it scandal or controversy but it happened.
