Katchi Abadis in Karachi To Be Brought Under Law

Karachi: It has decided to brought thousand of Katchi Abadis in Karachi under law according to plan by taking steps in order to provide every basic facility. According to the details, a meeting was held under presidency of Director General of Sindh’s Building Manzoor Qadir at headquarter of Sindh Building Control Authority in Karachi.

In the meeting, matters of Karachi’s master plan were considered and decisions were taken in this regard as expert town’s planners, senior officials and members of Association of Building and Developers were also presented during a meeting. While addressing to a meeting, DGSBCA Mazoor Qadir said that it is necessary to update Karachi’s master plan of 2007 by viewing the rapidly growing population of Karachi. According to the reports of relevant departments, there are almost 1, 000 illegal Katchi Abadis are presented in the city which will brought under law very soon by taking effective steps in this regard according to master plan of 2007.

The Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority (SKAA) has been active since 1978 in order to provide improvement and result oriented services regarding living system of the katchi Abadis in Karachi as half of the population of Karachi lives in Katchi Abadis which look after by SKAA. It has been working under an Act of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh.
