Karachi: Sindh Culture and Tourism Department is organizing Keenjhar Mela festival from 9th May to 11th May at the lake and the 3 day festival timings are 11am to 10pm. Festival includes large variety of programs and shows for the entertainment and fun of families like, sports activities, music concerts, boat racing, mlakhra, matka race, competitions and kids play zone. Food stalls, magic show, art and handicrafts stalls, fireworks, traditional dance, tableaus and other fun activities will also be the part of Keenjhar Mela.
Music show will be continue at every night in 3-days Keenjhar Mela with different Sindhi folk artists including Marvi Allah, Tufail Sanjrani, Dino Khaskheli, Sain Dad Faqeera, Mehtab Kanwal. Other local singers and folk groups like Shehnai group and Marvival group will also perform at the festival. It was announced by Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Sharmila Farooqi that Sindh Culture and Tourism Department is going to arrange Keenjhar Mela festival. She also said that to promote traditional ethics and tourism in the country especially Sindh, it is compulsory to arrange these sorts of festivals.
Sharmila Farooqi requested to people from different walks of life to participate in this festival to make this step effective in order to support cultural values as she has also appealed to attend the festival from the media persons.
Keenjhar Lake is situated in west of Hyderabad on National Highway at a distance of 125 kilometers away from Karachi and 86 kms from the Hyderabad. It has been established to offer boarding and housing services to the visitors on minimal charges by the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation at the bank of Keenjhar Lake.
