Mobile Service to remain suspend in Karachi on 31st December Night

Karachi: Government is considering blocking mobile phone networks on New Year night, sources told. Government received security threats and interior ministry may announce this statement within few hours. On other hand, PTA hasn’t clarified his stance on this issue. Another source revealed that mobile service suspension may also remain off in other major cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Quetta, Islamabad and Peshawar.

Yesterday on 28 December, Mobile service was suspended in Karachi without notification. And we remember mobile suspension on Eid ul Adha and Eid ul Fitr.

Mobile service blockage during Muharram was imposed in dozens of cities including some small cities. The three days ban on Mobile service during Muharram bound many people.

Another source told that Government will also imposed ban on Billion Riding for New Year Night. Seaview in Karachi will also remain close for general public for few hours on 31st December, local correspondent reported.

Update: On 31st December Rehman Malik announced that mobile services will not be suspended on 31st December night.
