Muzaffargarh: Mukhtar Bibi School which is located in Meerwala, Punjab has been closed by district government due to insufficient security arrangements. According to the details, administration has given orders to schools to do proper security arrangements till 15 January in order to save from hazards.
Executive District Officer of Education Ashfaq Gujjar told that schools which come in A category are located in urban areas have been installed CCTV cameras and walk through gates. He further told that two prominent schools which are located in Lahore have also been closed due to not having walk through gates and insufficient boundaries as these things have become very important for schools after saddest Peshawar attack. Social worker of Women Rights Mukhtar Bibi claimed that Mukhtaran Bibi High School has not received any clearance while no invitation has been given to its staff for the meeting which was organized by the DOC.
Mukhtar Bibi (also known as Mukhtaran Mai) further told that they have not enough resources to buy CCTV cameras and walk through gates for schools as there are only 700 girls students are studying in Mukhtaran Bibi School while 300 students are registered in Gabbar Arain School. When contacted to EDO of education, he said that he will visit to Mukhtaran Bibi School in order to review security arrangements, Mukhtar Bibi added.
