NAB Performance In Pakistan

Karachi:  Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem, Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) (Karachi)  told that according to the World Economic Forum 2.6 trillion dollar corruption is done  across the world yearly. This shows that it is major issue of the world and not only for Pakistan.

According to the international survey report 168 countries is involved in corruption. Pakistan is on 117. It is very danger sign for Pakistan.

Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem was addressing a seminar in Karachi University at the Varsity Campus on “awareness and prevention of corruption”. This seminar was jointly organized by Karachi University and NAB.

Further he told that Pakistan economy suffered loss of 133 million dollar (14 billion rupees) due to corruption.

Naeem told that NAB has also played a vital role in helping the cancellation of incorporated allotment 300,000 acre land in 56 villages in Thatta district.

“NAB department is free from any sort of government, agencies and political pressure. That’s why we don’t compromise on merit. Our recruitment criteria are very tough and merit based and our officers get training by foreign investigative agencies”, he said.

Also speaking at the seminar Vice Chancellor of Karachi University Prof Mohammad Qaisar told that elimination of corruption is pivoted step toward country growth and stability and youth must play a vital role to fight this battle.
