Overcharging at Shahrah-e-Faisal For Parking

Charged parking in Karachi is very common thing and many of the places are charged wither by cantonment or by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). Overcharging is also done on many areas. But in some of the areas parking charges are charged three times more than the actual amount. On Shahrah-e-Faisal service lane near Park Avenue, Business Avenue parking charges are 30 rupees.

The contractors are still using the old CDGK receipt and their workers cut the actual price (Rs.10) with the pen and rewrite the new amount (i.e. Rs.10). the boards which were placed by KMC to display the parking charges are painted or posters are pasted on them.

One of the person who was taking parking charges said that KMC is involved in the business and contractors pay them extra money for overcharging of Parking. People have requested to Chief Justice of Sindh High Court to take notice of this issue.
